4 Steps to Creating an Easy DIY Easter Basket

4 Steps to Creating an Easy DIY Easter Basket

Color Clutch DIY Easter basket_blog post

Think Easter baskets are just for kids? Think again. Swap out eggs for lacquer, and a basket for Color Clutch.  All of a sudden, we can’t wait for the Easter bunny to get here!

This year we’re all about switching up the traditional Easter basket full of candy, and instead creating the ultimate gift for the nail polish lover. But we can’t take credit for this clever idea: several of our customers in years past have sent us photos of their DIY (that's "Do It Yourself") Color Clutch Easter basket creations. We fell in love with the concept and had to share the idea this time around! If you create a basket this year, be sure to share a photo with the hashtag #ColorClutchEaster so we can repost our favorites and give you credit!

If you’re just getting up to speed, Easter is Sunday, April 16th. Even if you don’t usually celebrate the holiday, it’s a fun excuse to scarf down some chocolate eggs (hello, Cadbury!) or stock up on the latest spring nail polish collection.

Below are 4 easy steps to creating the ultimate DIY nail polish Easter basket this season.

Our Color Clutch in white is the perfect home for your Spring collection

Step 1: Decide who will be the lucky recipient

We’re pretty sure just about any nail polish lover would shriek if they got this as a gift. In past years, we’ve had customers create this Easter basket for their daughter, mother, granddaughter, bestie, and VIP clients.  Depending on your budget and the number of gift recipients, you can tailor your gift accordingly.

Step 2: Choose a set of spring nail color

Most nail brands have released their spring collection for 2017, so now is a perfect time to snag a few favorites.

If you’re on budget, check out Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri line at Ulta or Walmart. We love Quick Fire – orange is a big trend this season.

If you want to splurge, we’re loving OPI’s Fiji collection. Lindsay over at Nail That Accent has some gorgeous swatches of the collection. We really love “Polly Want a Lacquer” – it’s a perfect lilac spring shade.

Step 3: Accessorize

If you’re feeling generous, add a few nail accessories to your Easter basket. Items such as a nail file, hand lotion, cuticle oil, and nail polish remover would be perfect compliments to round out the basket. We love these nail polish remover pads from La Fresh and this cuticle oil from Jamberry.

Step 4: Choose your basket

We might be biased, but our 14-bottle Color Clutch nail polish case makes for a perfect alternative to a traditional easter basket for your #nailpolishaholic recipient. Plus, if you’re gifting nail polish this Easter our organizer will help the recipient keep everything organized when she gets home. Going all out? Gift them 14 lacquers and store them easily in our Color Clutch.

Presentation is everything. When setting up your Easter basket just before it is gifted, make sure all of the items in the basket are displayed so your recipient can see. Just place the spring nail color you’ve chosen inside the Color Clutch case, and then stand it up on its own or in an actual Easter basket. If you’re going to give a few nail accessories in addition to the polish, you’ll probably want to display the Color Clutch and your other nail goodies in a traditional basket. For extra oomf, you can add a pastel ribbon to the basket handle, and even a plastic Easter egg or two.
